Oil on Canvas, 18" x 24", 2016

Do you remember how simple life was as a kid? Each day was full of excitement and endless possibilities. You brought together your dreams and reality through play, You constructed cities with sand, challenged friends to races and played demolition derby with your Matchbox cars. This 1960's Corvette Tootsie Toy has a patina of dirt and rust that tells its story and shows the passing of time. How do you hold on to your memories and show your kids that you were just like them? Your toys were made to last longer than ones made today, but more than likely they were shoved away in the attic, sold for pennies at a garage sale or just lost in the shuffle of our increasingly hectic and fast paced adult lives. I created this painting with oil paint, a tried and true medium that has been used for centuries for commemoration. This painting embodies our childhood and inner world that we often forget. The universal childhood wonder it captures will be kept alive for generations to come. It is a gallery wrapped canvas with the sides painted blue and is ready to hang on your wall with standard hardware and wire. On the back it is titled, signed and dated.
